COAS Shooters edged past Safety Shooters 32–31 in a thrilling encounter that headlined Day 8 of the Ardova Handball Premier League 2025 Phase 1, currently underway in Benin City, Edo State.
The gripping match kept fans on the edge of their seats as COAS Shooters overcame a 14–13 half-time deficit to snatch victory late on in what proved to be one of the competition’s most evenly matched fixtures so far.
In other men’s results, Osun United produced a determined performance to beat Rima Strikers 28–24 after taking a commanding 18–11 lead into the interval. Correction Boys were clinical in their 26–18 win over Benue Buffaloes.
De Defenders had to dig deep to defeat Lagos Seasiders 28–25, having trailed 13–12 at half-time.
Reigning champions Tojemarine Academy continued their impressive run with a 31–25 win over former title holders Niger United. Tojemarine led 16–13 at the break and maintained their momentum until the final whistle.
In the women’s category, Rivers Queens secured a 31–23 victory over Ekiti Queens, building on their 17–12 lead at half-time.
Defending champions Safety Babes extended their unbeaten streak with a solid 31–26 triumph over Imo Grasshoppers.
Rima Queens narrowly edged out Defender Babes 29–28 in a tightly contested match that saw just a single-goal difference (15–14) at the break.
