Napoli are preparing for a managerial shake-up at the end of the season after head coach Antonio Conte reportedly decided to leave the club.
Reports indicate that Conte reached the decision about a month ago and has already informed club president Aurelio De Laurentiis. His exit is expected once the current campaign ends.
As reported by Fabrizio Romano on X on Tuesday, “Antonio Conte has decided to leave Napoli at the end of the season, it’s over. Conte made his decision and informed the president De Laurentiis already one month ago. There will be no exit fee, Conte will leave without severance pay and without any agreement elsewhere.”
Conte’s spell at Napoli attracted significant attention because of his reputation as a demanding, success-oriented coach who quickly restructures squads and imposes tactical discipline.
His departure will now compel the club to reconsider its long-term sporting plans.
Napoli have yet to release an official statement, although discussions within the club are expected to centre on identifying a successor after the season.
During his time in charge, Napoli enjoyed major success, winning the Serie A title in his first season and also lifting the Supercoppa Italiana, underlining his immediate influence on the team’s competitiveness.
