As the Premier League title race between Arsenal and Manchester City reaches a crucial phase, attention is also turning to squad members who may miss out on winners’ medals despite being part of the teams.
League regulations state that only players with at least five appearances automatically qualify for a medal, while clubs can apply for extra medals, though these are limited and not assured for everyone.
At Arsenal, a number of fringe and younger players have yet to meet the requirement. Kepa Arrizabalaga has not played a league game this season, meaning his chances depend on the club’s discretion if they win the title.
Max Dowman has featured four times and needs one more appearance to qualify automatically. Meanwhile, Marli Salmon and Tommy Setford have mainly played in cup competitions and are yet to appear in the league, leaving their chances uncertain.
A similar situation exists at Manchester City, where some players are also below the appearance threshold. Mateo Kovacic has struggled with injuries and has not reached five league games, while Max Alleyne has seen limited action after returning from loan.
Youngsters including Reigan Heskey, Charlie Gray, and Ryan McAidoo have mostly been involved in cup matches and have not made enough league appearances to qualify automatically for medals.
