In the fourth round of the Premier League, Frank Lampard’s Coventry City suffered a humiliating 5-0 home defeat to Brighton & Hove Albion.
Following their return to the top flight after 25 years, Coventry have now failed to score or pick up a single point in their opening four matches.
Coventry began their campaign with a 3-0 away loss to defending champions Arsenal. They were then beaten 1-0 by fellow promoted side Hull City before suffering another 1-0 defeat away to Manchester City. Their latest setback came at home against Brighton, who thrashed them 5-0.
Remarkably, the four teams Coventry have faced so far — Arsenal, Hull City, Manchester City and Brighton — currently occupy the top four positions in the Premier League.
After four matches, Lampard’s side remain without a goal or a point, recording Coventry’s worst league start in 107 years. They will look to end the dreadful run when they travel to face Nottingham Forest in the fifth round.
