Michael Carrick has expressed confidence in Marcus Rashford’s ability to make a significant contribution when the new Premier League campaign gets underway.
Carrick said the forward has returned in good shape and remains an important part of his plans, highlighting the qualities he brings to the squad.
In a post by Fabrizio Romano on X on Thursday, Carrick was quoted as saying, “Rashford is our player and he’s come back great.
“I’ve known him a long time and he gives us something a little bit different.”
The manager’s comments suggest Rashford remains firmly in his plans as the club prepares for the upcoming season.
Carrick also spoke positively about the campaign ahead, with the team eager to begin competitive action.
Rashford spent the 2025/26 season on loan at Barcelona after temporarily leaving Manchester United in search of more regular first-team opportunities.
The England international impressed during his spell in Spain, adapting to Barcelona’s attacking setup while gaining experience competing at the highest level.
