The Portuguese forward has come out on top in our fan poll after an outstanding display in the 3-0 victory over Chelsea.
OFFICIAL STATEMENT:
Everton forward Beto has been named Player of the Matchweek for Matchweek 31.
The Portuguese attacker won our fan poll for the first time following an all-round centre-forward performance in the Toffees’ 3-0 triumph over Chelsea.
Beto gave Everton the lead in the first half with a brilliant chip over Robert Sanchez, then grabbed his second goal midway through the second half with a fierce finish beyond the Chelsea goalkeeper.
He also provided the assist for Iliman Ndiaye’s inch-perfect strike, which wrapped up an impressive victory for Everton.
Beto’s achievement means Everton become the ninth different club to produce a Player of the Matchweek winner this season.
The Portuguese forward earned 37 per cent of the fan vote for Matchweek 30, while Brighton & Hove Albion striker Danny Welbeck, who finished closest, received 29 per cent.
The other nominees were Nottingham Forest defender Neco Williams with 15 per cent, Sunderland striker Brian Brobbey with 14 per cent, and Fulham midfielder Josh King with five per cent.
