Ex-Arsenal midfielder Partey faces additional rape charges

Former Arsenal midfielder Thomas Partey has been charged with two further counts of rape.

The 32-year-old is scheduled to appear at Westminster Magistrates’ Court on March 13 in relation to the new charges, which concern one alleged victim and date back to 2020.

Police were notified of the alleged offence in August 2025.

Previously, in September, Partey appeared at Southwark Crown Court where he denied five counts of rape involving two other women, as well as one charge of sexual assault concerning a separate woman.

Those alleged incidents are said to have occurred between 2021 and 2022 during his time at Arsenal.

The Ghana international, now playing for Spanish side Villarreal, is set to stand trial at the same court on November 2.

Partey, who formerly listed his address as Potters Bar, Hertfordshire, joined Arsenal from Atletico Madrid in 2020 in a deal worth approximately £45m before departing the club in June last year.

He has earned over 50 caps for Ghana, representing his country at both the World Cup and the Africa Cup of Nations.
