Eze makes history in Arsenal’s emphatic North London derby victory

Eberechi Eze delivered an outstanding performance, scoring three times in his first Premier League North London derby as Arsenal defeated Tottenham Hotspur 4-1 on Sunday.

With his treble, Eze becomes the first Arsenal player since 1978 to net three goals against their local rivals.

He is also the first English player to score in his maiden league North London derby for Arsenal since Ian Wright and Kevin Campbell achieved the feat in 1991.

Leandro Trossard opened the scoring for Arsenal after a strong start, while Richarlison responded with an impressive long-range effort.

The result puts Arsenal six points ahead of second-placed Chelsea in the standings.

Arsenal went in front in the 36th minute when Trossard latched onto a clever lofted pass from Mikel Merino, controlled it, and fired a low shot that deflected off a Tottenham defender before crossing the line.

Five minutes later, Eze doubled the advantage after receiving a pass from Declan Rice, weaving through several challenges in the box and striking past the goalkeeper.

Just a minute into the second half, Eze added his second and Arsenal’s third, finishing calmly after being set up by Jurrien Timber.

Spurs reduced the deficit in the 55th minute through Richarlison, who lifted the ball over David Raya from distance after Martin Zubimendi surrendered possession in midfield.

Arsenal restored their three-goal cushion in the 76th minute when Eze secured his hat-trick with a fine finish.

Trossard controlled a long ball and drove forward before picking out Eze in the area, who then beat his marker and curled the ball into the far corner.
