The Football Association (FA) has fined Arbeloa £25,000 and issued him a warning over comments he made following Fulham’s Premier League match against Manchester United on Sunday, September 20.
According to the FA, Arbeloa was charged with improper conduct after remarks made during a post-match interview allegedly implied bias and/or questioned the integrity of a match official.
Arbeloa admitted the charge, after which an independent regulatory commission imposed the financial penalty and warning following a hearing.
The sanction follows the governing body’s disciplinary process concerning comments made after the Premier League encounter.
