Fulham set to offer Super Eagles star Bassey new contract

Premier League side Fulham are working on a new contract for Super Eagles defender Calvin Bassey.

Bassey has one year left on his current contract with the London club. However, Fulham have the option to extend the deal by another year, which would keep the Nigerian defender at Craven Cottage until the summer of 2028.

According to TEAMtalk, the Cottagers are now ready to offer the 26-year-old centre-back a fresh long-term contract as they seek to secure his future at the club.

Bassey has become an important part of Fulham’s defence and is considered among the leading defenders in the Premier League.

The versatile Nigeria international joined Fulham from Dutch giants Ajax in July 2023 and enjoyed a strong 2024/25 season, when he was named the club’s Player of the Season.

Bassey has started all three of Fulham’s Premier League matches this season under new manager Álvaro Arbeloa.

Since moving to Craven Cottage, the defender has made 105 appearances for Fulham across all competitions.
