There appears to be tension between Cristiano Ronaldo and Al Nassr, according to Turki Al-Ajma, a well-known Saudi sports journalist and television host, who shared exclusive behind-the-scenes information on his TV show.
Top Saudi Journalist on Ronaldo’s Rift with Al Nassr
Despite widespread international reports claiming that Cristiano Ronaldo is fully fit and carrying no injuries, his recent absence from the squad is reportedly linked to mounting frustration. Ronaldo is said to be unhappy with the club’s leadership, believing that nothing was done during the winter transfer window and that the club showed complete inactivity.
The forward reportedly challenged the club’s hierarchy directly, asking: “What exactly are your signing plans?”
A club official responded in Portuguese using a familiar Saudi saying, translated as: “Muhammad only has dinner, nothing else.”
The expression refers to a man named Muhammad who works tirelessly all day but ends up with nothing except a meal to sustain himself—symbolising a lack of progress, no acquisitions, and no tangible outcomes.
That response immediately angered Ronaldo, who reacted strongly, saying:
“Then I won’t even have this dinner. You handle tomorrow’s match on your own. May Allah bless you. Go play by yourselves. After all, you haven’t signed anyone, and you haven’t told me a single thing.”
Contrary to speculation, Ronaldo is neither injured nor requesting rest or squad rotation. In fact, the concept of “rotation” does not align with his mentality. His frustration was evident in his reaction to being substituted in the previous match, where his displeasure was clear and he showed no interest in leaving the pitch. He does not require rest or rotation.
His anger is rooted entirely in the phrase “only has dinner,” which confirmed to him that no new signings would be made.
Nevertheless, Ronaldo has since indicated that he will feature in today’s match.
