I’m a better boxer than Anthony Joshua – Paul Jake

YouTuber-turned-boxer Jake Paul has expressed confidence that he is a superior fighter to former Olympic gold medalist and two-time heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua as they prepare to face off on Friday night at the Kaseya Center in Miami.

The 28-year-old Paul is riding the momentum of a dominant unanimous-decision win over ex–middleweight champion Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. on June 28. Since his only professional defeat—a split-decision loss to Tommy Fury in February 2023—Paul has put together a six-fight winning streak.

Joshua, 36, will be returning to the ring for the first time since suffering a fifth-round knockout loss to former IBF titleholder Daniel Dubois (22-3, 21 KOs) in September 2024 at Wembley Stadium in London.

“In terms of boxing, I’m a better boxer than AJ, which is hilarious to say,” Paul said.

“He’s got two left feet, he’s stiff. If I was his coach, I’d put him in a dance class first before trying to box. [I’ve brought] in the right sparring partners to help me prepare so that I can get looks that are similar to him.

“That’s been the strategy, but I’m going to go in there and display all of my skills.”
