Chelsea midfielder Cole Palmer has revealed that he is still working his way back to full fitness despite helping the Blues to a 2-0 victory over Everton in Saturday’s Premier League clash.
The England international opened the scoring at Stamford Bridge, marking his first goal for the club since September.
Palmer had been sidelined for over two months due to a groin injury, and although he has recently returned to action, he says he is not yet at his peak.
“I wouldn’t say I’m at my best yet,” Palmer told BBC Match of the Day. “I’m still dealing with an injury. Hopefully it gets better and better but there’s still a bit to go.
“It is getting better. The stuff I’ve been doing with the physios at the club. It’s just a matter of not doing too much too soon.
“Literally, it’s just a day by day thing. Hopefully it gets better.”
