French journalist Daniel Riolo has raised the possibility of Kylian Mbappé leaving Real Madrid, suggesting the prospect could emerge earlier than many football fans anticipated.
Football transfer expert Fabrizio Romano reported the comments on X on Friday after Riolo discussed the French forward’s situation on RMC Sport’s After Foot and later provided further details on Cadena SER’s El Larguero.
Riolo, who has long been regarded as close to the Mbappé family, offered a frank assessment of the France international’s situation at the Spanish giants.
He said, “If he does not have the team he wants, it’s possible that he will leave. I think it’s possible. I don’t think he’s happy with everything that’s happening at Real Madrid this season.”
The journalist’s remarks, which he presented as his personal assessment rather than confirmed information, have attracted attention across French and Spanish football media.
Mbappé’s current contract with Real Madrid runs until June 2029, leaving him with two years remaining after the current campaign.
A potential exit in the summer of 2027 would therefore require an agreement between the player and the club or a major transfer deal.
