Mourinho begins second Real Madrid spell with mission to rebuild Culture

New Real Madrid manager Jose Mourinho says his return to the Spanish giants is driven by a mission to restore discipline, responsibility and a winning culture at the club.

Speaking during preparations for pre-season at the club’s training complex, the Portuguese tactician said his focus extends beyond trophies, stressing that he wants to improve every aspect of the team, including the players, coaching staff and overall work ethic.

Mourinho, who replaced Alvaro Arbeloa in June, takes charge after Real Madrid endured two consecutive seasons without a major trophy. His appointment is widely seen as an effort by club president Florentino Perez to restore stability in the dressing room.

“I am here to help everyone become better and build a culture of hard work, ambition, responsibility and the honour of serving Real Madrid,” Mourinho said.

The club struggled with internal issues last season, including reported dressing-room tensions and difficulties integrating star players such as Kylian Mbappe, Jude Bellingham and Vinicius Junior into a balanced team.

Mourinho previously managed Real Madrid between 2010 and 2013, leading the club during its intense rivalry with Pep Guardiola’s Barcelona.

Real Madrid have also strengthened their squad ahead of the new campaign with the arrivals of Marc Cucurella, Bernardo Silva, Denzel Dumfries and Ibrahima Konate.
