Cristiano Ronaldo’s mother, Dolores Aveiro, recently spoke to Portuguese media outlet TV7 about her feelings regarding her son’s departure from the national team.
Speaking about the situation, Ronaldo’s mother said: “I am very sad, which is normal. It’s shocking. My son could have left through the front door, but he had to leave through the back door. But it’s okay, God will take care of everything.”
She added: “He has always been a hero for Portugal. People didn’t give him the respect he deserved.”
According to Dolores, Ronaldo also called her after leaving the national team’s training camp.
