Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen made his return to action on Friday night as Galatasaray secured a 3-1 victory over Kasimpasa in an Istanbul derby.
The Super Eagles forward, who had been out of action for a month after picking up an injury during another Istanbul derby against Basaksehir, came on as a substitute in the 77th minute.
Osimhen marked his comeback by providing an assist for Mario Lemina, who scored Galatasaray’s third goal deep into stoppage time to seal the win.
The Nigerian international is now expected to play a more prominent role on Tuesday night when Galatasaray host Barcelona in a UEFA Champions League encounter.
The victory returned the defending Turkish Super Lig champions to the top of the table with 16 points from seven matches, three points ahead of surprise contenders Amedspor.
