Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) have secured their first-ever Champions League title, delivering a dominant performance against Inter Milan in a one-sided final.
The French giants showcased their star power at the Allianz Arena in Munich, Germany, achieving a treble after completing a domestic double earlier in the season.
Inter Milan, meanwhile, suffered their second consecutive Champions League final defeat, with this performance falling far short of their effort against Manchester City two seasons ago.
PSG seized control early, opening the scoring in the 12th minute. Desire Doue demonstrated exceptional composure, setting up Achraf Hakimi for an easy tap-in. In a gesture of respect to his former club, Hakimi refrained from an elaborate celebration.
Inter’s defensive lapses compounded their struggles, as a deflected effort from Doue off Federico Dimarco doubled PSG’s lead in the 20th minute. Eight minutes later, the French side extended their advantage on the counterattack, with Ousmane Dembele assisting Doue, whose shot found the net after another deflection.
Despite a free header opportunity for Marcus Thuram, Inter entered halftime trailing 2-0, fortunate not to have conceded more. Missed chances by Dembele and Khvicha Kvaratskhelia highlighted PSG’s dominance in the first half.
Inter manager Simone Inzaghi introduced changes early in the second half, but their efforts to mount a comeback were extinguished just after the hour mark. Doue capped a memorable night with a composed finish, securing PSG’s place in history as champions of Europe.
