Sporting Lagos emerge 2026 NNL Super Four champions

Sporting Lagos have been crowned champions of the 2026 Nigeria National League (NNL) Super Four despite suffering a 1-0 defeat to Inter Lagos in their final match on Friday.

Hassan Bashiru scored the decisive goal for Inter Lagos in the seventh minute of the closely fought encounter.

Despite the loss, Sporting Lagos finished top of the standings with six points from three matches.

Jeffrey Butler’s side secured the title on superior goal difference after starting the competition with a 1-0 victory over Ranchers Bees before thrashing Doma United 4-0 in their second game.

The Noisy Lagosians received the ₦10 million prize money alongside the championship trophy.

Inter Lagos also ended the tournament with six points but settled for second place due to an inferior goal difference.

They began their campaign with a 1-0 defeat to Doma United before bouncing back with a 1-0 win over Ranchers Bees in their second fixture.

Ranchers Bees and Doma United finished third and fourth respectively, with all four clubs earning promotion to feature in the 2026/27 Nigeria Premier Football League season.
