Three-time African champions, the Super Eagles of Nigeria, have climbed four spots in the latest FIFA world rankings released on Friday by the Federation of International Football Association (FIFA).
The latest FIFA world rankings were published on the organization’s official website on Friday.
Nigeria’s Super Eagles moved up from 45th to 41st globally.
Under Eric Chelle, the team also climbed one position within the African rankings.
The three-time African champions are now ranked among the top five national teams on the continent, sitting behind Morocco’s Atlas Lions, Senegal’s Teranga Lions, Egypt’s Pharaohs, and Algeria’s Desert Foxes.
The Super Eagles’ rise follows back-to-back wins in their 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers, where they secured a 2-1 win against Lesotho’s Crocodiles at the New Peter Mokaba Stadium in Polokwane and a dominant 4-0 victory over the Benin Republic’s Cheetahs in Uyo.
On the global stage, Spain retained the top spot, with Argentina reclaiming second place, pushing France down to third. England’s Three Lions and Portugal round out the top five.
