Tyson Fury set to come out of retirement

Tyson Fury has reportedly agreed to come out of retirement, according to Saudi boxing chief Turki Alalshikh in a surprise announcement.

Fury had officially retired from boxing in February after suffering a second defeat to Oleksandr Usyk, stating at the time that he was “happy” and “content” with his career and had no plans to return.

However, the former heavyweight champion had previously hinted that a third fight with Usyk could tempt him back into the ring.

It now appears that opportunity has materialized. As reported by talkSPORT, Alalshikh revealed on X (formerly Twitter) on Wednesday that Fury has verbally committed to making a comeback.

He posted: “The ‘Gypsy King’ will be back!!! I talked with him, and I have his word to have him in Riyadh Season in 2026.”

Alalshikh then included a reference to a ‘rabbit’, which is a reference to what Fury had labelled Usyk throughout their rivalry.

“We have a rabbit to hunt!” he added.

The announcement also included a picture of Fury alongside Alalshikh with the pair shaking hands.

A potential comeback will also give boxing fans hope of an all-British fight with former heavyweight world champion Anthony Joshua.

Joshua has refused to rule out a monumental clash with Fury, and now there is a chance it may end up finally happening.
