Manchester United defender Lisandro Martínez has expressed concerns over the club’s direction, questioning the level of investment made during the summer transfer window and calling for changes beyond the managerial position.
In a candid interview, the Argentine defender admitted that he sometimes has to control his emotions while reflecting on the club’s current situation. He also suggested that repeatedly changing managers without addressing other areas of the club could leave United facing more difficulties next season.
“I expect more from our technical director, I have to be honest. I expected more investment in the summer,” Martínez said.
The defender also challenged the club’s tendency to focus on managers and players whenever problems arise, arguing that other areas of the organisation must also be examined.
“We keep changing managers, but what about other areas? It’s easy to say the coach, the players, but also we have to see others, huh? I can’t say more,” he added.
Martínez ended his remarks with a warning about the consequences of failing to make the necessary changes.
“If you don’t change, next season it’s a big problem.”
His comments highlight concerns about Manchester United’s long-term planning, recruitment and the need for broader structural changes as the club seeks greater consistency and improved results.
