WAFCON 2024: Botswana will exploit Super Falcons mistakes — Malete

Botswana head coach, Alex Malete, has expressed confidence that his team will capitalize on any errors made by the Super Falcons when both sides meet in their Group B encounter at the 2024 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations.

The Mares suffered a narrow 1-0 defeat to Algeria in their opening match at the Larbi Zaouli Stadium in Casablanca and now face a tougher challenge against Nigeria’s formidable Super Falcons.

Nigeria, nine-time WAFCON champions, got off to a strong start in the tournament, securing a convincing 3-0 win over Tunisia.

The last meeting between both teams ended in a 1-0 victory for the Super Falcons during the 2022 edition of the competition.

“We have to be calm and not desperate when we face Nigeria,” Malete told SABC Sport.

“We have to be able to express ourselves in terms of things that we do well. Look at Nigeria as well and see what they do well and see what they struggle with and do our best to use that to our advantage.”
