“Work in silence, let success be your noise” quote is not directed at Mbappe, Yamal – Kane

Harry Kane was left on the bench as Bayern Munich secured a commanding 6-1 victory over Magdeburg in the second round of the DFB-Pokal. Following the match, the England striker spoke to the media about his recent experiences, his approach to hard work and Bayern’s upcoming Bundesliga showdown with Borussia Dortmund.

Speaking in the mixed zone, Kane described the past week as an extraordinary experience, reflecting on Monday night’s Ballon d’Or ceremony.

“It’s been a crazy week. Monday night’s Ballon d’Or ceremony was incredible. There was a lot of waiting time, and I kept trying to imagine what it would feel like to win.

“The support from friends, family, and fans has been truly special, almost overwhelming. I had a wonderful evening with those close to me, and now it’s straight back to work while slowly processing everything.”

The forward also explained why he did not feature against Magdeburg, revealing that the decision was made to give him a rest after a busy run of fixtures.

“I could have played tonight, but Aaron Danks said he wanted to rest me for this game. We’ve played a lot of matches recently, and he had considered bringing me on as a substitute, but then we scored our fourth goal, which completely sealed the victory.”

Following his Ballon d’Or triumph, Kane shared a message on social media that read, “Work in silence, let success be your noise.”

However, the 33-year-old dismissed suggestions that the statement was aimed at his closest rivals, Kylian Mbappe and Lamine Yamal.

“No, not at all. To be honest, it’s a quote I’ve always loved throughout my career. It embodies my personality, my way of doing things, and my attitude towards hard work, discipline, and dedication. Many times, I’ve had to train alone.

“I’ve put in all the effort behind the scenes. I just feel it’s a great quote that many boys and girls can take inspiration from and use to motivate themselves.”

Kane then turned his attention to Bayern Munich’s upcoming encounter with Bundesliga leaders Borussia Dortmund on Saturday, highlighting the importance of the fixture and the opportunity to increase his team’s advantage over their rivals.

The striker expressed confidence in his side’s preparations and stressed the significance of securing all three points in the highly anticipated clash.

“It’s an important match, and the most important Bundesliga game of the season so far. We know how much of a boost it would give us to win and go three points clear. So, hopefully, we can get a win this Saturday to cap off the week perfectly.”
