“A very grave mistake,” Popular content creator confesses to raping 20-year-old lady who committed suicide

The Delta State Police Command has arrested Ifeanyi Ogbonna, the content creator widely known as Odogwu of Asaba, over the alleged rape of a 20-year-old lady.

Ogbonna, 40, was said to have invited the victim, identified as Favour Agbro, a nursing student, to Asaba under the pretext of mentoring her in content creation.

He allegedly lured the lady to his hotel room, where he tortured and raped her.

Favour, who was traumatised by the alleged assault, recorded a video detailing her ordeal before consuming insecticide. She is said to have passed away while receiving treatment.

Bright Edafe, the PRO of the Delta state police command, also confirmed Ogbonna’s arrest in a post via his X page.

“The Delta State Police Command has arrested a popular content creator, one Ifeanyi Ogbonna, male, aged 40, also popularly known as “Odogwu of Asaba,” in connection with the alleged rape of a 20-year-old girl,” he wrote.

“The suspect invited the victim to Asaba in the guise of teaching her content creation, lured her to his hotel room, allegedly tortured and řápêd her. The deceased, who could not withstand the trauma, made a video of her encounter, then took insecticide; she eventually died while receiving treatment.”

Meanwhile, a video of Ogbonna in police custody, pleading with the family of the victim, has gone viral.

“This is a very grave mistake. I am ready to give everything,” he said.
