Naira Marley denies involvement in DJ Splash’s mental health illness

Nigerian singer Naira Marley, who is also the head of Marlian Records, has rejected allegations that he caused DJ Splash’s mental health problems.

Furthermore, he addressed speculations surrounding his affiliation with Marlian Records. DJ Splash clarified that he was never signed to Marlian Records.

The artist known for the song ‘Soapy’ has faced various criticisms and allegations following the passing of his former labelmate, Mohbad.

One such claim suggested that DJ Splash suffered a mental breakdown after consuming substances provided by the Marlian team.

In a recent video shared by actress Iyabo Ojo during her visit, DJ Splash’s mother claimed that her son had been struggling with mental instability since he left Naira Marley’s residence. However, during an interview with Reno Omokri on Thursday, Marley refuted all the allegations.

Marley clarified that DJ Splash was never formally under contract with his music label, and he denied any responsibility for the DJ’s mental health struggles. He further stated that DJ Splash had already parted ways with Marlian Records before experiencing his mental health challenges.

He stated, “DJ Splash was never officially part of Marlian Music. While I recognize him as a DJ, he has never played at my shows or events. He doesn’t work as my DJ. The title might have been given due to a picture we have together.”

He went on to express that he was unaware of the origins of the DJ’s mental health struggles. Additionally, at the time, DJ Splash was no longer affiliated with Marlian Records.

“When whatever happened to him, he was not at my house, and I do not understand where all this is coming from,” he noted.
