The singer 2Baba’s lover, Natasha Osawaru, has been removed from her position as the Edo State House of Assembly’s minority leader.

Osawaru, a politician who presently represents the Egor seat, is a member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

Her dismissal comes after the All Progressives Congress (APC) gained majority control of the party after four PDP lawmakers defected to the party.

Yekini Idaiye, the chief whip of the house, and Charity Aiguobarueghian, the previous majority leader, were also dismissed with the lawmaker.

However, Blessing Agbebaku and Maria Edeko, both PDP members, continued to serve as speaker and deputy speaker, respectively.

The development came after the assembly was informed of the party’s new majority status by Jarret Tenebe, the interim chairman of the APC in Edo state.

The speaker responded by announcing the appointment of APC members, including Lecky Hussein Mustapha from Etsako west I as chief whip, Addeh Isibor from Esan north-east I as deputy leader, and Ibhamawu Aigbokhan from Esan west as majority leader.

Agbebaku said PDP leadership in the state would submit a list of nominees for the remaining principal offices.

He added that his position as speaker and that of the deputy speaker may be reviewed.
