The Abia State Command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) has announced the deployment of 705 officers across the state’s 17 local government areas to safeguard the protection of people and property over the Easter holiday.
State Commandant Akinsola Aderemi stated that the decision is a proactive measure by the command to ensure peace and order prior to, during, and after the holidays.
According to Aderemi, the deployed officers will be strategically stationed at key public venues such as churches, markets, motor parks, and other high-traffic areas throughout the state.
He emphasised that the operation would be executed with the highest level of professionalism and that personnel would work in synergy with other security agencies to provide 24-hour surveillance and protection.
The NSCDC boss also called on residents to stay alert and promptly report any suspicious activity to the nearest security agency.
He said, “I am committed to ensuring the safety and security of all Abians before, during, and after this Easter period.
“I assure the public of the unwavering dedication to duty and unrelenting effort of my officers to protect lives and properties in the State. I wish you all a happy Easter Celebration.”
