Musical artist Divine Ikubor, widely known as Rema, has stated that Nigerian parents don’t chastise children who contribute financially to the family.

He shared this perspective during a recent discussion with content creator Enzo.

In their conversation, Enzo mentioned that his mother disapproved of him getting a tattoo and had even stopped speaking to him for days after he braided his hair. In response, Rema advised Enzo to focus on achieving financial success, implying that parents are less likely to criticize breadwinners.

Enzo said, “My mum won’t let me get a tattoo. The time I did braids, she didn’t talk to me for days. It was bad.”

Rema replied, “Don’t worry, you just need to hustle a little bit more. Wait till you cash out big. Nigerian parents don’t advise breadwinners.”

Rema also previously disclosed that he became his family’s breadwinner as a teenager following his father’s death. He revealed that he earned his first million at the age of 17 and gave the entire amount to his mother.
