French police have rescued the father of a cryptocurrency millionaire, who was abducted by a gang demanding ransom. In a bold daylight attack in the heart of Paris, the victim was abducted by four balaclava-wearing persons who shoved him into a delivery van.

According to French police officials, the victim was rescued on Saturday from a house in Palaiseau, located in the south of Paris, where he was found with a missing finger. The kidnappers have demanded a 5-7 million euro ransom (approximately $5.35-7.49 million) from his wealthy son.

Police have used phone signals to find him. In this case, the police have arrested four suspects, who are now being questioned. French Interior Minister Bruno Retailleau praised the investigators for an exceptional job. The disappearance marks the third abduction linked to France’s cryptocurrency industry this year, raising alarms about targeted attacks on crypto-affiliated families.

As per the reports, just four months prior, David Balland, co-founder of Ledger, and his wife were abducted from their central France home. Rescued days later, Balland had a finger severed, with the kidnappers demanding 10 million euros (approximately $10.7 million).

In January, a 56-year-old man was found alive in a car boot near Le Mans, his abductors attempting to extort his son, a Dubai-based cryptocurrency influencer.

These incidents of kidnapping highlight that as the crypto industry is advancing, crypto millionaires are in danger as criminals are targeting them for their wealth. The police are working hard to stop these kidnappings and are investigating the groups behind them.
