The popular Nigerian singer Portable claims that his boxing battle against Speed Darlington brought him “N70 million in just three days.”
On April 18, a technical knockout (TKO) finished the fight at the Balmoral Convention Centre in Victoria Island, Lagos.
When Darlington was unable to stand up in the second round, Portable was proclaimed the winner.
Portable stated in a now-viral video that the organisers handed him N30 million when he accepted the battle and another N20 million if he prevailed.

He said that Burna Boy gave him N20 million after he beat Darlington, increasing his three-day fight earnings to N70 million.
“I was first given N30 million to agree to the fight. Then they said if I win, I would get another N20 million, making it 50 million,” he said.
“After I beat Speed Darlington, I even wounded him, and then Burna Boy sent me an extra N20 million.
“So, in just three days, I made N70 million.”
The boxing match stemmed from a rivalry after Darlington offered Portable N500,000 to perform, which he rejected, claiming his fee was N20 million.
Darlington accused Portable of insulting his mother, leading the ‘Zazoo Zeh’ hitmaker to challenge him to a fight.
