Students of Omololu Olunloyo Polytechnic are currently staging a protest at the institution’s main gate along Sango/Eleyele Road in Ibadan, Oyo State.
This demonstration follows the recent renaming of The Polytechnic, Ibadan, by Governor Seyi Makinde in honour of the late former governor, Omololu Olunloyo, who passed away at 89.

Despite prior warnings from the school’s management urging students to cancel the planned protest, a large crowd gathered to voice their displeasure, urging the governor to reverse the name change.
Academic and other activities in the institution are now put on hold, while the Sango en route Eleyele axis is temporarily blocked.
