The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has ramped up its efforts against cybercrime with the arrest of 12 suspects in Lagos.
In a statement released by the Lagos Zonal Directorate 2, the agency confirmed that the arrests were made on Tuesday, July 8, 2025, during a sting operation in the Ajegunle-Apapa area.

The operation was carried out following credible intelligence reports linking the suspects to internet-related criminal activities.
The EFCC noted that the individuals are currently undergoing profiling, and charges will be filed once investigations are completed and sufficient evidence is gathered.
