Afrobeats singer Reekado Banks has shared the important lessons he has gained since leaving Mavin Records in 2018.
In an interview on The Esther Show, Reekado Banks revealed that leaving Mavin Records was a major turning point in his personal growth, helping him learn accountability and responsibility.
He explained that if he had stayed with the label longer, he might have developed a sense of entitlement and found it harder to own up to his mistakes.
Reekado Banks reflected on his journey with appreciation, expressing gratitude to Don Jazzy and Mavin Records for the opportunities they provided. He added that going independent has offered him a fresh perspective, helping him gain a deeper understanding of both the music industry and his artistry.
He said, “I do not think I would have gathered as much knowledge as I have now. Yeah, because I would be absolutely catered to and, you know, I would feel entitled,”.
