The Ogun State Police Command has commenced a thorough investigation into the gruesome murder of 16-year-old Lawal Wahab, whose mutilated remains were reportedly found along the Old Express Road in Igbile-Ijebu.
The teenager, who had been living with his grandmother, was declared missing by his father, Lawal Olumide, earlier in July.
His decomposed body was discovered on July 23, 2025, after concerned residents alerted the police to the scene.

“Acting on credible intelligence, officers from the Omu-Ijebu Division swung into action and arrested suspects Salaeu Omikansola, 25, and Serefusi Agemo in connection with gruesome murder of their victim.”
She noted that one of the suspects gave a voluntary confession, which was documented and recorded on video.
“The deceased, who had been staying with his grandmother, was declared missing by his father, Mr. Lawal Olumide.

“A preliminary examination revealed that the head, both wrists, heart, and genitals had been gruesomely removed—suggesting ritualistic motives.”
Due to the advanced state of decomposition, the body was buried in line with Islamic burial rites shortly after its recovery.
