President Bola Tinubu is scheduled to honour at least 210 former corps members during the President’s NYSC Honours Award, recognizing outstanding service from the 2020 to 2023 service years.

The announcement was made in a statement released on Saturday in Abuja by the NYSC Director of Media, Mr. Emeka Mgbemena.

According to the statement, the award ceremony is set to take place on Tuesday at the Banquet Hall of the Presidential Villa.

Mgbemena said that the awardees are made up of 200 ex-corps members who excelled meritoriously in all the four cardinal programmes of the NYSC.

The programmes, he said, are Orientation Course, Primary Assignment, Community Development Service and Winding-Up/Passing-Out.

“Others that will also be honoured by the President under the NYSC Hope Alive Initiative are 10 ex-corps members that suffered various degrees of permanent disabilities while serving their fatherland,” the statement added.

The Minister of Youth Development, Mr Ayodele Olawande, Director-General of NYSC, Brig.-Gen. Olakunle Nafiu and NYSC Management were looking forward to welcoming the award beneficiaries and guests to the event, the statement further said.
