Pastor Enoch Adeboye, General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, has called on members of the congregation to make substantial financial contributions—running into billions and millions of naira—to fund ongoing church projects.

The appeal has drawn considerable attention and sparked discussions among both church members and the public.

In a widely shared video from the church’s 73rd annual convention, held on Saturday at Redemption City in Ogun State, Adeboye specifically encouraged at least 10 members to each contribute ₦1 billion, and another 100 members to donate ₦100 million each, stressing the importance of the funds in advancing the church’s mission.

“We have to build many more dormitories. For example, if you look at the choir’s altar, it was built to take 10,000 of them, but they have outgrown the altar, some of them are sitting on the floor and many times, the camera does not cover them.

“We have to enlarge the altar before December. Also, our water system that has served us for over 20 years, we will need to upgrade power supply as we expand our dormitories, sewage systems. We have a lot of projects to complete before December.

“I need at least 10 of my children who can give me at least one billion naira each, and I need 100 of my children who can give me a hundred million naira each.

This comes just days after Adeboye made headlines for predicting the exact day he would pass away and “go to the heavenly world.”
