The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has presented certificates of return to winners of the recent by-elections across 12 states.
In the elections which took place on August 16, two candidates were elected to the senate and five into the house of representatives.
In the senate, Emmanuel Chibuzor Nwachukwu of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) won Anambra south, while Joseph Igiagbe Ikpea of the All Progressives Congress (APC) clinched the Edo central seat.
For the House of Representatives seats, five new members were elected in Edo, Jigawa, Kaduna, Ogun and Oyo states.
They include Edo state: Omosede Igbinedion (APC), Ovia north-east/Ovia south-west federal constituency; Jigawa state: Mukhtar Garki (APC), Babura/Garki federal constituency; Kaduna State: Joseph Bagudu (APC), Chikun/Kajiru federal constituency; Ogun state: Adesola Elegbeji (APC), Ikene/Shagamu/Remo north federal constituency; and Oyo state: Fola Oyekunle (PDP), Ibadan north federal constituency.
