The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has declared Lagos businessman Olasijibomi Ogundele wanted over alleged “diversion of funds and money laundering.”
Ogundele is the chief executive officer (CEO) of Sujimoto Luxury Construction Limited, a company operating in the real estate sector.
The anti-graft agency announced Ogundele’s wanted status in a notice released on Friday, signed by EFCC spokesperson Dele Oyewale.
“Ogundele is a 44-year-old indigene of Ori-Ade Local Government of Osun State and his last known address is: G 29, Banana Island, Ikoyi, Lagos State,” the statement reads.
“Anybody with useful information as to his whereabouts should please contact the Commission in its offices.”
This development marks not Ogundele’s first encounter with law enforcement. In October 2024, he was detained at the Force Criminal Investigation Department (FCID) in Abuja over an alleged fraud case.
The police acted on a petition filed by human rights lawyer Pelumi Olajengbesi, who accused Ogundele of fraudulently obtaining $325,000 from one Kabiru Ibrahim in November 2020.
According to the petition, Ibrahim had paid the sum as a 50 percent deposit for a three-bedroom flat in an estate, only to later discover that Ogundele’s company had no such housing project in progress.
Ogundele was eventually released by the police.
