The Deputy Governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the forthcoming November 8 election in Anambra State, Senator Uche Ekwunife, has denied any connection to damaging allegations recently linked to her concerning Governor Chukwuma Soludo and his wife, Mrs. Nonye Soludo.

Among the most controversial claims was a rumour alleging that the First Lady had a child with Anambra billionaire, Chief Chris Uba. The story, which spread widely online, drew a strong response from Mrs. Soludo, who refuted the claim and even expressed her willingness to undergo a DNA test.

In a statement released by her campaign organization and signed by her Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Tony Ezike, Ekwunife dismissed the report, describing it as false and malicious.

“The attention of Sen. Uche Ekwunife has been drawn to an article falsely attributed to her camp, alleging that Mrs. Nonye Soludo had children for Chief Chris Uba,” the statement read. “Senator Ekwunife categorically states that the said publication did not emanate from her or her camp.”

Ekwunife, who acknowledged being the subject of verbal attacks herself, stressed that political disagreements with the Soludo administration should never be a reason to spread misinformation. She also expressed regret over the controversy caused by the rumours.

“She further wishes to apologize to the Governor, his wife, and the general public who may have been affected by the altercations of the past few days,” the statement added.

The APC candidate further appealed to her supporters to refrain from sharing or promoting content that could be perceived as defamatory or confrontational, particularly against the First Family.
