Showbiz entrepreneur Darey Art-Alade has opened up about how he and his wife, Deola Art-Alade, have grown together both professionally and personally over the years.
In a recent interview, the singer explained that their relationship naturally evolved from a strong, long-standing friendship.
He emphasized that mutual respect laid the groundwork for their dynamic, allowing their roles in their joint ventures to take shape organically.
Darey shared that while both he and Deola are naturally creative, he currently focuses on the creative direction, while Deola oversees the business operations.
“We always just do things together. Once you enjoy each other’s company. You admire each other. She opened my social media accounts for me when I was still an artiste. That is the level of friendship,” he said.
“So being able to evolve into her becoming more of the business handling and I ended up handling all the creative stuff, even though she is a core creative.
“We just cross-pollinated. I learn a lot from her. She also picked up a lot of stuff on this side, especially on the entertainment, since it wasn’t something that she did naturally.”
Darey emphasised that success wasn’t instantaneous but built on a willingness to learn and complement each other.
“We both learned along the way and we just continued to grow and get stronger and work to each other’s strengths, and cover each other’s weaknesses,” he continued.
“As best as you can early on. It is not like you are going to have it all figured out, you know, off the bat. Once you have that willingness, that understanding, the cooperation, and you understand your rules, because one person cannot do everything.
“Try not to have a chip on your shoulder. You can save that for the outside people. It is both of you against anybody else.
“Then when the doors are shut, you can you can figure out what may have gone wrong or how something could have been done differently.”
The synergy has propelled their company, Livespot360, to notable heights.
The agency is behind major Nigerian events like Entertainment Week Africa and has facilitated high-profile concerts, including bringing global superstar Cardi B to Nigeria.
