Veteran Nigerian musician, Salawa Abeni, has addressed and dismissed the circulating rumours about her death.
In a video posted on her Instagram page, the singer refuted the viral report and described it as “shameful.”
While thanking fans and loved ones for their concern, Salawa Abeni appealed to the general public to ignore the rumours.
In the video she sang a defiant warning, declaring that anyone wishing her dead would die before she does.
Captioning the video, the 64-year-old songstress wrote “I’m alive, hail, and hearty. Please disregard the rumours. Some blogs will do the unthinkable just to trend. It is rather shameful. The Queen is fine and doing very well”.
In recent times, several public figures have also been forced to debunk false reports about their deaths, including veteran musician Ebenezer Obey and Nollywood actor Chiwetalu Agu.
