Police arrest bandits’ drug supplier, terrorist leader in Kaduna

Security operatives in Kaduna State have arrested a suspected drug supplier to bandits, a terrorist group leader, and a child trafficking syndicate, as well as recovered arms, ammunition and stolen livestock during a series of operations across the state.

The spokesperson of the Kaduna State Police Command, DSP Mansir Hassan, disclosed this in a statement, saying the operations were part of sustained efforts to tackle crime and criminality in the state.

According to him, the police surveillance team from the Maraban Jos Division arrested a suspected bandit drug supplier, identified as Franklin Ozo of Danmagaji, Zaria, who was found in possession of large quantities of Exol tablets worth millions of naira.

Preliminary investigations revealed that the drugs were intended for delivery to Kidandan and Giwa for bandits’ use. Ozo is currently in custody as investigations continue.

Hassan added that on September 29, 2025, operatives from the Anti-Kidnapping Unit, acting on credible intelligence, arrested a terrorist leader, identified as Alhaji Sani, popularly known as “Dan Gude,” in Doka Ilu village, Giwa Local Council.

Recovered from the suspect were one fabricated AK-47 rifle, two rounds of 7.62mm live ammunition and one AK-47 magazine. Investigations are ongoing to trace the source of the weapon and apprehend other possible accomplices.
