Court remands Lagos trader in Kirikiri for alleged sexual assault of teenage boy

A Lagos trader, Okonkwo Chikwado, who is 28 years old, has been brought before the Ikeja Chief Magistrate’s Court on a charge of allegedly engaging in “unnatural sex” with a teenage boy.

Chikwado, a resident of 2, Asake St., Ishashi area, Lagos State, is facing a trial for sexual assault.

Prosecutor ASP Adegoke Ademigbuji informed the court that the alleged crime took place on July 14 at the defendant’s home.

Ademigbuji stated that Chikwado allegedly lured the victim, a 15-year-old boy, into his room under the false pretense of sending him on an errand.

According to the prosecutor, the defendant then allegedly locked the door, sexually molested the boy, and had “anal sexual intercourse with him.”

The prosecutor asserts that the offense violates “section 261 of th Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015.”

The Chief Magistrate, Mr L. A Owolabi, did not record the defendant’s plea but instead ordered that he be remanded in Kirikiri Correctional Centre while awaiting legal advice from the Director of Public Prosecution.

Owolabi then adjourned the case until “Oct. 22 for mention.”
