UAC of Nigeria PLC (UAC) has finalised the acquisition of Chivita|Hollandia (CHI Limited) after receiving approval from the Federal Competition and Consumer Protection Commission (FCCPC).

In a filing with the Nigeria Exchange Group (NGX) on Friday, UAC confirmed that the deal — first announced on 30 July 2025 — marks a major expansion of its presence in the fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) sector, giving it a stronger foothold in Nigeria’s growing juice and dairy markets.

Eelco Weber, Managing Director of CHI Limited, welcomed the completion of the transaction and expressed confidence about the company’s prospects under UAC’s ownership. “We are delighted to have secured regulatory approval and look forward to a seamless transition as Chivita|Hollandia continues to flourish under UAC,” he said.

Fola Aiyesimoju, UAC’s Group Managing Director, described the acquisition as a strategic milestone. “We are thrilled to officially welcome the Chivita|Hollandia team and brands into the UAC family and are eager to build on their strong heritage and market leadership,” he stated.

UAC said the move supports its long-term growth strategy by adding two market-leading brands and a well-established distribution network to its portfolio.

For The Coca-Cola Company, which previously owned CHI Limited, the sale reflects a global shift towards a more asset-light business model, allowing it to focus on high-scale brands. Coca-Cola also reaffirmed its commitment to Nigeria, with plans to invest $1 billion over the next five years — provided the business environment remains stable and supportive.
