The Kwara State Police Command has dismissed claims that a female police officer in the state was kidnapped and killed.

In a statement issued on Saturday in Ilorin, the command’s spokesperson, SP Adetoun Ejire-Adeyemi, described the report as “completely untrue and highly distressing to the public.”

The command stressed that the story was not only false but also misleading, aimed at creating unnecessary panic in the state.

It urged residents to disregard the misinformation, confirming that no female police officer has been reported missing or abducted in any division across the state.

”There is no Ogidi police Division in Kwara State. The spread of such misinformation is not only harmful to reputations but also distressing to the individuals and the people of Kwara State.

‎”The command is cooperating fully with other security agencies in the state to ensure that we continue to protect lives and properties, prevent crimes, and maintain peace,” it added.

The command urged the public and media outlets to refrain from sharing unverified or sensationalized information that may cause unnecessary panic or damage the reputation of the state.

‎The statement assured that the command under the leadership of CP Adekimi Ojo, remains committed to transparency and will provide further updates as necessary.
