Osun 2026: K-RAD denies dumping APC for PDP

Frontline aspirant for the forthcoming governorship election in Osun state under the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Kunle Adegoke, popularly known as K-RAD has dismissed reports of his planned defection to the ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the state. 

Distancing himself from the said report, Adegoke in a statement released by his campaign media team on Tuesday and obtained by NewsClick Nigeria said the report is not only false but misleading and height of political desperation especially as the governorship poll in the state draws near.

The legal giant therefore reaffirmed his unalloyed loyalty to the APC, a party he helped built both nationally and in Osun state.

K-RAD DISTANCES SELF FROM FALSE REPORT OF DEFECTING TO PDP

Our attention has been drawn to a mischievous and utterly false report circulating on social media, authored by one Michael Adedayo, claiming that Kunle Rasheed Adegoke (K-RAD), the leading gubernatorial aspirant in All Progressive Congress (APC), is “set to join the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).”

This report is not only baseless but represents the height of political desperation and malicious propaganda. To say the least, it is evil, unfounded, and condemnable in its entirety.

Let it be stated, for the avoidance of doubt, that K-RAD remains a committed, loyal, and proud member of the All Progressives Congress (APC), a party he has laboured tirelessly to build and strengthen both in Osun State and across Nigeria. No amount of falsehood, mischief, or political blackmail will sway him from his long-held progressive ideals.

He also remains the aspirant to beat in next year’s governorship election in Osun State.

We urge the general public, supporters of K-RAD, and members of the APC to disregard this fabricated story and treat it as the handiwork of political jobbers who thrive on lies to seek relevance. Those who peddle such unfounded claims should be reminded that integrity and consistency are the hallmarks of leadership — values which K-RAD personifies.

We also call on the author and others to desist from publishing falsehood or engage in further acts capable of misleading the public or tarnishing the image of a man whose commitment to truth, justice, and progressivism is well known.

K-RAD’s political journey has always been anchored on principle, service, and dedication to the people, not opportunism or political speculation.

In conclusion, we reaffirm without equivocation that Kunle Rasheed Adegoke (K-RAD) is not joining the PDP now or at any time in the future. He stands firm with the APC, its leadership, and its ideals.
