The Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP) has released disturbing photos of the late Musa Uba, a brigadier general, in Al-Naba, the organisation’s Arabic-language publication.

Uba was killed on November 18 after ISWAP militants ambushed a convoy transporting soldiers and members of the Civilian Joint Task Force (CJTF) in Borno state.

The attack occurred last Friday along Damboa Road, near Wajiroko, as the security team moved military assets.

According to FIJ, censored photos of the brigadier general’s body appeared on the front page, showing a gunshot injury on his leg and blood close to his head.

Screenshots of his WhatsApp chats were also included in the publication.

The material was said to be featured in Issue 522 of Al-Naba, released on Thursday.

The eight-page issue highlights a series of recent ISWAP operations and actions carried out by other Islamic State factions globally.

In addition, ISWAP has claimed responsibility for Tuesday’s attack on the Damboa Brigade Headquarters and circulated images of a beheading in Gorobatcha, Borno.
