[EXCLUSIVE] Osun 2026: Eight out of 12 Aspirants Pick ₦50m APC Forms as Governorship Battle Heats Up

With less than four weeks to the All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship primaries in Osun State, the race for the party’s 2026 ticket has shifted into full throttle as eight of the twelve remaining aspirants have now purchased the party’s Nomination and Expression of Interest Forms at the APC National Secretariat in Abuja.

NewsClick Nigeria can exclusively confirm that as of 5.30 pm on November 25, 2025, the APC headquarters has received a staggering ₦400 million from the sale of forms – each aspirant paying the mandatory ₦50 million required to formalise their entry into the December 13 primaries.

Our findings at the party’s National Secretariat in Abuja reveal a streamlined but heavily secured process. Once an aspirant’s payment is confirmed, they are immediately directed to the office of the Organising Secretary, where the physical forms are issued. The exercise, monitored closely by party officials, has seen increased traffic in the last 72 hours as top contenders solidify their ambitions.

THE EIGHT CONFIRMED ASPIRANTS

Below are the aspirants who have officially picked up their forms as of November 25:

Senator Babajide Omoworare

Senator Iyiola Omisore

Babatunde Harter Oralusi

Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji

Oyedotun Babayemi

Benedict Olugboyega Alabi

Dr. Akinade Akanmu Ogunbiyi

Kunle Rasheed Adegoke, SAN (KRAD)

Their entries confirm what political observers have described as one of the most competitive APC primaries in Osun State in the last decade, with the party seeking a strong challenger to unseat the incumbent in the 2026 governorship election.

A HIGH-STAKES BATTLE AHEAD

The emergence of eight aspirants – each with significant political structures, regional influence, or administrative experience – signals a fierce internal contest ahead. Party insiders hint that lobbying, alignment, and negotiations have intensified across Osun’s three senatorial districts.

While submissions remain open for a short window, sources at the secretariat told NewsClick Nigeria that only a “miracle of speed and money” could produce new entrants at this stage.

As the calendar inches toward December 13, all eyes remain on the APC as it prepares for what may become one of Osun’s most decisive and closely watched primaries in recent years.

NewsClick Nigeria will continue to track developments and bring you verified updates from both Abuja and Osun.
