Harry Kane gave his verdict ahead of Wednesday’s UEFA Champions League fixture at the Emirates Stadium, cautioning Arsenal that Bayern Munich pose a major threat to any opponent.
The match will feature the top two sides in the group, with Arsenal hosting six-time Champions League winners Bayern. Both clubs enter the encounter in strong form, each sitting on 12 points, with Bayern leading the group and Arsenal close behind.
Their most recent meeting in the competition came two seasons ago, when Kane played a key role in Bayern’s 3–2 aggregate victory in the quarter-finals.
Speaking before the match, Kane discussed the challenge Arsenal present, the improvements they have made, and his previous experiences facing the London side. He described Arsenal as resilient and well-organised, and highlighted Bayern’s need to stay sharp, maintain their pressing style, and maximise their strengths.
Kane noted that Arsenal have become more defensively structured and more experienced in the Champions League since their last clash. He also reflected on his long-standing rivalry with Arsenal during his time at Tottenham, contrasting it with the less frequent meetings between Arsenal and Bayern.
The Bayern striker acknowledged that matches at the Emirates have often seen him score but not necessarily win, and expressed hope that Bayern can alter that pattern.
He compared the upcoming match with Bayern’s recent performance against Paris Saint-Germain, noting differences in defensive approaches between the two opponents, while emphasising the confidence gained from that earlier victory. Kane believes Bayern remain capable of threatening any team if they play with intensity and reach their top level.
